The John O'Groats to Land's End Challenges for Help for Heroes

Julia, her husband (Matt) and her boys (Guy [17] and Tom [15]) are leaving Penzance on July 9th to drive to John O'Groats, which they will leave on July 11th for the epic journey home. The "boys" are cycling and Julia is driving the backup camper-van and undertaking the first (so far as we know) "End to End Sweater" challenge.
She will cast on a specially designed sweater at John O'Groats and plans to be wearing it at Land's End 13 days later. The sweater, designed by Cornish designer Tina Barrett, is loosely based on a Cornish Gansey style and includes a Scottish twist.
The whole family is hoping to reach Land's End on Saturday, 24th July, having raised a load of money for Help For Heroes; the charity which, irrespective of political views helps our injured servicemen and women returning from conflicts such as Afghanistan.
More information, pictures and on-line donation page can be found at: www.justgiving.com/The Hopsons. Alternatively, if you are in the Penzance area, there is a collecting box in Knit Wits shop - 45 Causewayhead, Penzance.

Julia is planning to update her blog every night so you can see the progress of both the knitting and the cycling. Just click on "Julia's Blog".
